Pleasant start to the day with breakfast in the conservatory area with coffee in the garden afterwards, attentive breakfast staff. Good quality and variety of bar food and well kept beers. All of the rooms had views over the fields/marsh.
Despite wearing smart jeans and polo shirt I appeared to be mistaken for one of the workers who were refurbishing the dining area on my first morning, I was not amused, however my wife was!

A peaceful, restful hotel. Plenty of old charm and a lovely roaring fire in winter months. They do a fabulous hot chocolate. The choice at breakfast is extensive and freshly cooked. The bar and restaurant menu are excellent, but seasonal.

Massive very comfortable beds, Very tasty plentiful breakfast. Delicious bar meals reasonably priced with generous portions, Good selection of ales in a cosy, beamed bar with plenty of outdoor space to sit at the front of the inn (away from the noise of the more family orientated patio at the back).
The shower pressure was erratic; one morning the shower was hardly capable of washing conditioner out of hair, but the next morning the pressure was fine...
